Why don’t more people care about this funky vintage omega?
Everybody in the watch world thinks they have found the ultimate “sleeper” watch. It’s usually some microbrand that sources parts from a junkyard, or a vintage seiko that literally just looks like a Cartier Tank (shots fired). However, I am going to throw my hat, or wrist, in the ring here and expose you to what might actually be a fun, groovy, and maybe extraterrestrial vintage “sleeper” watch.

I introduce you to the Omega Genève Dynamic (I’m not going to put that fancy è every time). This came across my desk yesterday, and my first thought was “How do more people not give a shit about this watch?” I mean, with all of these fashion influencers pushing funky and eccentric style choices, how is this not on anybody’s radar? Especially with how much watch culture is bleeding into other niche enthusiast cultures, I’m surprised I haven’t seen a TikTok where the hook is something like “Come with me.. to pick up the THE most perfect watch for the groovy girlies”. I shouldn’t be talking, my TikTok hooks aren’t much better.
Pretty sure this dial is somewhat rare? Tough to find another online
This Geneve in particular is interesting because I can’t find another one like it anywhere online - which also makes it hard to identify the exact reference. So I’ve either stumbled upon the Mona Lisa of vintage Omega’s, or a botched amalgamation of parts from the scrap bin. The untouched case, fitted with this charcoal black dial and gold speckles, gives such a dynamic viewing experience (I think I figured out why they named it the Dynamic). Paired with this model-specific rally strap, it is truly one of the more unique wearing experiences I’ve had. For under $1000, I think this is a no brainer - if you can pull it off ;)
